The mission of the annual Cultural Perspectives series is to celebrate diversity within our community. The exhibit is brought to you by the International Festival of Burnsville and the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.
CALL FOR ARTISTS
The International Festival of Burnsville (IFB) and the Burnsville Performing Arts Center (BPAC) seeks artwork to display at the third annual Cultural Perspectives exhibition; this year’s exhibit is titled Color Our World. This year, we call for artists to define or describe cultural traditions or values within our global community in their artwork, either symbolically or realistically. Artwork may conceptually, abstractly, or realistically visually demonstrate the artist’s answers to these questions:
What cultural distinctions are evident in the piece? Are you keeping your culture alive with this with this global depiction? What do you envision when you think of diverse cultures sharing our world? Or does your work convey a personal memory or story? To apply, submit responses and photo(s) of titled artwork to

The show will feature 2-dimensional art of any media, freestanding or pedestal mounted 3-dimensional work, and textiles. Artwork will be selected based on relevance to this theme and artistic excellence. BPAC provides lighting for artistic works displayed in the gallery.

Application Deadline: Friday, May 31, 5pm - Include medium, price (if for sale) & dimensions
Selection Decision Notification: Wednesday, June 5
Hang/Place Artwork at the BPAC: June 10, 11 or 12, during hrs. open (9am - 5pm)
Remove Artwork at the BPAC: July 22, 23, 24, during hrs. open (9am - 5pm)

Artists' Reception: Thursday, July 11, 6:30-8 pm
Artist Meet & Greet at the International Festival of Burnsville: Saturday, July 13, 4 - 5pm
Art Gallery Hours: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, Saturday, 10am - 2pm, Sunday 12p-4p and open to patrons during events and performances.
