Reoccurring Pattern – from Macro to Micro

Eleanor McGough

January 26 – February 25, 2012 

Minneapolis artist Eleanor McGough, has exhibited her work throughout the Midwest.  Her recent paintings reveal patterns that reoccur through layers of life, from diatoms in pond water and cells in our bodies, to patterns in technology and astronomy.  The paintings draw influences from biology, textiles, maps, and geometry in order to convey a kaleidoscope world of interconnectedness.

Eleanor maintains a studio in Northeast Minneapolis and has been a recipient of two Minnesota State Arts Board Grants and a Bemis Foundation Residency.

 


 

Burnsville Visual Arts Society’s “Art Fete”

March 8 – April 14, 2012 

BVAS presents the 30th annual Art Fete, a members’ show consisting of artwork of all mediums from local emerging and professional artists. The mission of Art Fete is to make the visual arts more accessible to our community and to support local artists by providing them with the opportunity to exhibit and sell their artwork.

 


 

Children’s Art Festival

April 26 – June 2, 2012 

The Burnsville Performing Arts Center is pleased to announce the return of the annual Children's Art Festival. This special art exhibit celebrates the artistic talent of youth in our community. Over 100 pieces of artwork created by students in grades one through six from local elementary schools is featured.

 


 

Cultural Perspectives – Finding Peace

Doug Knutson and Elisabeth Paper

June 14 – July 21, 2012

The mission of the annual Cultural Perspectives series is to celebrate diversity within our community. This year’s theme of “Finding Peace” consists of a series of black and white photographs taken by Doug Knutson and an assortment of pieces featuring the peace crane created by Elisabeth Paper. The exhibit is brought to you by the International Festival of Burnsville and the Burnsville Performing Arts Center.

 

 

 

 

 

 



 

Burnsville Performing Arts Center (BPAC) currently holds eight gallery exhibits every calendar year in its 2,000 square-foot art gallery. Our mission is to celebrate the visual arts by displaying a diverse collection of artwork from local emerging and professional artists. Our gallery hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and open to patrons during performances and events. Opening receptions (free and open to the public) are generally scheduled on Thursdays evenings. BPAC posts upcoming exhibits, openings, and calls-for-art for select exhibits on our website. Artists or arts organizations interested in displaying their artwork are also encouraged to apply for the following opportunities:

Exhibit Proposal

Exhibit proposals are reviewed annually in June for the following calendar year. The deadline to apply is March 15th. All applicants will be notified of selection decisions by the end of June. Individual artists, artist organizations, and groups working in any visual 2-D or 3-D medium may submit an exhibit proposal. Artwork and exhibit proposal selections will be based on artistic quality, originality, presentation, and overall fit with the year's gallery programming. Art Around BPAC

The mission of the "Art Around BPAC" program is to support the visual arts in our community. Artwork by local artists will be displayed throughout our building on a rotating basis for the enjoyment of our patrons and visitors. This opportunity allows artists to market and potentially sell their artwork. Artists who are interested in displaying their work are encouraged to submit an application for consideration.

Art Donation

The Burnsville Performing Arts Center welcomes unrestricted donations in order to be able to use artwork for future exhibits, display within the building, art auctions for fundraising, and more. Please download the form for more information.
