The city of Burnsville has released the following information regarding road construction taking place this weekend and into the month of May.
1)Southbound 35E will be closed starting Friday night around 10 PM and will remain closed through May. The official detour is 494 to 35W.
2)Northbound 35E will remain open and not affected
3)Northbound 35W will be closed around 10 PM Friday night to 5 AM MondayThe detour is NB 35E as that will remain open.
4)Southbound 35W will be closed from 10 PM Saturday night to 6 AM Sunday morning (8 hours total). The detour route is CSAH 42 exit to Buck Hill Road to 35 South entranceThey will be shutting down all the entrances to Buck Hill Road from the Burnsville Center during this overnight work and will have 10 or more law enforcement officers directing the traffic through the detour.
After this weekend, southbound 35E will be closed for one month while the flyover bridge deck is being reconstructed. What this means for the month of May is:
1)Expect December holiday season-like traffic conditions in the CSAH 42/35E/35W/Nicollet/Buck Hill Road areas.
2)They will not be signing a detour on 42 and Buck Hill Road because it is not an official detour and will hopefully prevent 35E users from using 42 to Buck Hill Road on a daily basis and will instead use 494 to 35W which is the posted detour.
3)Expect overnight lane closures on 35W in the flyover bridge area.
4)They also will be working on the 42 and the Southcross bridges on 35E during this time, but the work on those bridges is much less extensive then the bridge over 35W, but could have lane reductions on Southcross from time to time. |
