About the Building

About the BuildingThe Burnsville Performing Arts Center is located at 12600 Nicollet Ave in the Heart of the City. This new complex opened in January, 2009. The center has two theatres, a 1000 seat Proscenium Stage and an intimate 150 seat Black Box.

The lobby is two stories tall, all glass, with a sweeping view of Nicollet Commons Park, the Minnesota River Valley, and the Minneapolis skyline.

In addition to the theatres, the Center has a 2000 sq. ft. art gallery, meeting rooms and a large rehearsal room.

There is additional space for banquets, special events and receptions.

Presentations at the Burnsville PAC will range from classical music to comedy, from jazz to Christian rock, from country to rock and roll. There will be dramas, comedies, local arts organizations and national touring artists. There is something for everyone at the BPAC.

Exclusive Catering

All types of food and catering services are available at the venue.  Guests may choose plated service, buffet selections, hors‘d oeuvres set up or hand-passed appetizers. Below is a list of approved caterers permitted to provide food services to guests of the Burnsville Performing Arts Center. No outside food or beverages may be brought in with the exception of wedding cakes or specialty items.

Mobility Access

Main Stage

Handicap accessible seats for the public are located in:

  • Row V in the center, left, and right in the orchestra and
  • Row GG in the left and right of the balcony
  • Row A seats 2,3 and 14,15

There is room for a total of 30 wheelchairs and 31 companion seats.

Black Box Theatre

The handicap accessible seats are located in the first row of seating and will be accommodated as needs dictate.

The theatre hearing assist system; is composed of 1-Listen LS-03-072 (performance system) with headsets for the public.

Accessible Restrooms

Handicap rest room facilities and drinking fountain are near the seating area.

Accessible Dressing Rooms

All dressing rooms are accessible therefore there are no specifically designed handicapped dressing room facilities.

Backstage Wheelchair Access

There is existing ramp access to the backstage area by special arrangement with the Production Manager.

Policies

Smoking

The BPAC is dedicated to providing a healthy and comfortable environment for its employees and visitors. Therefore all building areas in the complex are smoke free. Smoking is not permitted within 20 feet of any building entrance with the exception of designated smoking areas.
